Harpist Lou Ann Gramann is an accomplished
musician with over 25 years of performing and
teaching experience in both private studios and
public schools in three states. Mrs. Gramann was
born in Houston, TX. and graduated from Spring
Branch High School in 1976. She received her
Bachelor of Music degree in 1982 from Houston
Baptist University, where she was a double major
in flute and voice. She received her Master of
Music from Sam Houston State University in 1990,
with an emphasis in both conducting and Kodaly
music education. She studied briefly in Hungary in
1988, and has done post graduate and doctoral
work at Webster University, University of
Missouri-St. Louis, and Indiana University in
Bloomington.

Mrs. Gramann was an assistant director of the St.
Louis Symphony Children's Choirs from 1994 to
1998.  She is a founding director of the Hidalgo
Children's Choir in Texas. She performed
flute/piccolo with The Houston Civic Symphony
from 1980 until 1983. She sang for several
seasons with The Houston Symphony Chorus,also.
She has performed under the distinguished
batons of: Dr. Robert Linder, Dr. Bev Hensen,
Sergio Commissiona, and Leonard Bernstein. Mrs.
Gramann studied voice with Sharon Shepley, Dr.
Walter Foster, Dr. Wayne Roe, and Frances Bible.
She studied flute with Carol Slocumb of the
Houston Symphony. She studied instrumental
conducting with Dr. Robert Linder, and choral
conducting with Dr. Doreen Rao, and Dr. Gwyn
Richards, dean of Indiana University.

Mrs. Gramann's choral compositions were
premiered by the St. Louis Children's Choirs, and
her Opera, The Legend of The Bluebonnet; A
Texas Folktale, was performed in Illinois in 1998.
Mrs. Gramann plays many instruments including
but not limited to: Piano, Harpsichord, Flute,
Piccolo, Clarinet, Saxophone, Soprano , Alto,
Tenor, and Bass Recorders, Krummhorn, Ocarina,
Lute, Bowed Psaltery, Violin, Guitar, and various
tuned and untuned Percussion instruments.  

Mrs. Gramann began playing the lever harp in
1992. She quickly discovered it to be her favorite
instrument. She retired from public school
teaching in 2005, and began performing full time.
Heavenly Harp plays at weddings, churches,
memorials, schools, events, and parties
throughout the year. As a member of Duo
Classical, she and her partner enjoy playing a
wide variety of music and meeting many
interesting people.

Mrs. Gramann has 3 roadies who help move her
many instruments, stands, amplifiers, and music.
Ken, her husband, is chief roadie while Jacob, 8,
and Linda,6, are assistant roadies.
A native of Tifton, Georgia, David Bowen began
studying piano at the age of 5. As a member of a
musical family, he had many opportunities to
perform. As a teen, he continued his studies at
Brevard Music Center in Brevard, North Carolina
and Florida State University in Tallahassee,
Florida. As an undergraduate, he continued his
studies at Florida State University, completing his
degree requirements at Samford University in
Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his Master of
Music degree from Southwestern Seminary in
Fort Worth, Texas.

His interests include composition, playing the
Cello and Violin, English church music, and music
of the Renaissance and Baroque periods.  He
enjoys improvising on the organ as well as piano.  


David has been the Organist-choirmaster for
churches of various denominations in
Tallahassee, Birmingham, Fort Worth, Danville,
Atlanta and most recently in Jacksonville Florida
where he was the Organist-choirmaster at the
Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. a
position he held from 2002 until 2008.   While in
Jacksonville he was sought after to accompany
vocal and instrumental soloists and chamber
groups, and provide his musical expertise for
weddings, funerals, organ dedications, and other
musical events.   He co-founded The Chamber
Music society of Good Shepherd in 2003.  Once a
month the society gathers to perform large scale
chamber works from the Renaissance period
through Contemporary period.   Visit

Now residing in McAllen, Mr. Bowen Is a
freelance organist and a chamber musician
performing through out the Rio Grande Valley.
